Campus Safety and Crime Report

The University of Missouri - Saint Louis is committed to establishing a safe and secure learning and work environment for those attending classes, those teaching and conducting research, and those whose efforts support these activities while on the campus or its operational extensions.

In 1998, the federal government passed the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, formerly the Student Right to Know Act of 1990. This law requires colleges and universities receiving federal funding to disclose the reported instances of criminal activity on their campuses.

The law specifically requires the reporting of violent crime, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and arson, as well as a summary of arrests and disciplinary referrals for liquor law violations, drug abuse violations, and weapons possessions.

In compliance with this act, the University of Missouri - Saint Louis Police Department has produced this report, "Campus Crime Act Report for 2006", which contains the aforementioned information. In addition to campus crime statistics, this report is also a resource guide for campus safety services and crime prevention strategies. Inquiries about this report may be directed to the Department at (314) 516-5155 or electronically using the "Contact Us" link on the left navigation bar.
